Privacy Policy
Version 1.0.1 · Effective 2026-07-24 · Wisdom Digital Media
StatusNearMe does not store personally identifiable locations, habits, routes, or identities as a personal profile on our app servers or online services. Map apps and other outside apps are not controlled by us. Works with the User Agreement.
Key points
- We do not store your personally identifiable location, travel habits, routes, or identity on our servers or in the App’s online services.
- We never ask for or collect Certificate of Indian Status numbers or images — including when you open a merchant website checkout from the App.
- Location and microphone run only if you grant device permission — used on-device for Near me / voice, not uploaded as a personal profile.
- Maps, navigation, and other apps you open from StatusNearMe are outside parties; their privacy policies apply, not ours.
- You must grant permission (OS and in-app prompts) before StatusNearMe can hand off to other apps installed on your device.
- This Policy works together with the User Agreement (tax, liability, and lawful use).

STATUSNEARME™ PRIVACY POLICY Version 1.0.1 · Effective 2026-07-24 Wisdom Digital Media (“Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”) publishes the StatusNearMe mobile application and related websites (collectively, the “App” or “Service”). This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains what we do — and deliberately do not do — with information when you use StatusNearMe. This Policy is designed to work together with the StatusNearMe User Agreement (“UA”). The UA covers tax-law acknowledgements, liability, and lawful use. This Policy covers privacy and data practices. If you do not agree with this Policy or the UA, do not use the App. This copy applies to the container detected for your session: StatusNearMe Web / Demo (Google Play). 1. OUR PRIVACY PRINCIPLE 1.1 StatusNearMe is built so Status Indian cardholders and other users can find publicly described places without handing us identity documents or building a personal tracking profile. 1.2 CORE COMMITMENT — NO PERSONAL TRACKING PROFILE We do NOT store, on the App’s servers or in any online StatusNearMe service we operate, any of the following as a personally identifiable record about you: (a) your personally identifiable locations (for example, a history of where you have been); (b) your habits (for example, frequent searches or visit patterns linked to you); (c) your routes or trip plans linked to you as an identifiable person; or (d) your identity as a named individual (including Certificate of Indian Status numbers, Status Card images, government ID numbers, full legal name for tax identity, or similar). 1.3 We do not sell personal information. We do not use the App to build advertising profiles of Status cardholders or other users. 2. WHAT WE NEVER COLLECT 2.1 Certificate of Indian Status (Status Card) numbers, barcodes, photos, or images of Status Cards. If you enter a Status Card number on a third-party merchant website (for example an online checkout opened from the App), that data is collected by the merchant under their privacy policy — not by StatusNearMe. 2.2 Social Insurance Numbers, driver’s licence numbers, passport numbers, or other government identity documents. 2.3 Payment card numbers for personal tax-exempt purchases (the App is not a payment processor for your till or pump transactions). 2.4 A server-side account that requires you to register with legal name + Status identity to search the catalog. 2.5 Continuous background location tracking for marketing or resale. 3. WHAT MAY EXIST ONLY ON YOUR DEVICE (LOCAL) 3.1 Some preferences and settings may be stored locally on your device (for example, language choice, last selected province filter, disclaimer or User Agreement acceptance flag, map-app preference for the session, and similar non-identifying product settings). These stay in on-device storage (such as localStorage or app preferences) unless you clear app data or uninstall. 3.2 Location used for “Near me” or similar features is requested through the device operating system only when you choose to use those features and grant permission. Coordinates are used in the moment to rank or filter places on your device (or to query public place data). We do not operate a cloud service that keeps a personally identifiable history of your GPS points, routes, or habit profiles. 3.3 Voice / microphone: if you use voice search and grant microphone permission, audio is processed to turn speech into text for your search. We do not keep a personal voiceprint identity file about you on our servers. 3.4 Offline catalog: store builds may include an encrypted or packaged place catalog on the device so search works without a network. That catalog is general place content, not your personal travel history. 3.5 If you clear storage, revoke permissions, or uninstall the App, local settings and any on-device session state are removed according to your device OS behaviour. 4. WEBSITE AND TECHNICAL INFRASTRUCTURE 4.1 The marketing website (including statusnearme.com) and any hosting or content-delivery network (for example Cloudflare) may process standard technical logs such as IP address, browser or device type, referring URL, and timestamps. These are ordinary website security and reliability logs, not a Status Card identity database. 4.2 Email / contact: static legal notices list hotmod.ca@gmail.com as a contact reference. Interactive contact on this website uses Formspree and is delivered to wisdomdigitalmedia@gmail.com. Do not send Status Card numbers by email or form. 4.3 Business listing / claim workflows (when enabled) may collect business contact details you voluntarily submit about a merchant location — not your personal Status identity. 5. PERMISSIONS YOU CONTROL 5.1 Location — optional. Used for Near me, distance sorting, and related features. Deny permission and use province/city search or demo location instead. 5.2 Microphone — optional. Used only for voice search if you start that feature. 5.3 Network — used to load map/routing helpers when online, refresh public content, or contact our site. Offline mode relies on on-device catalog where available. 5.4 You can change or revoke permissions in Android or iOS system settings (or browser site settings on web). Revoking may limit features but does not require you to give us Status identity. 6. RELATIONSHIP TO THE USER AGREEMENT 6.1 The UA requires lawful use of the App and compliance with tax laws. Nothing in this Policy authorizes tax avoidance or misuse of place content. 6.2 Disclaimers in the UA (informational only; not tax advice; no liability for merchant till outcomes) apply alongside this Policy. 6.3 Content in the App is curated from publicly available sources. Public place data is not “your” personal information. 7. GOOGLE PLAY / ANDROID CONTAINER NOTES 7.1 Distribution through Google Play is also subject to Google’s terms and Google Play policies. Google may process install, update, crash, and integrity signals under Google’s own policies. That processing is controlled by Google, not by Wisdom Digital Media. 7.2 Android runtime permissions (location, microphone, etc.) are enforced by the operating system. StatusNearMe only receives what you allow. 7.3 If you sideload a beta APK, network and permission behaviour still follows this Policy for our App code, but you may lose Play Protect and store-update guarantees. 8. THIRD-PARTY APPS, MAPS, AND SERVICES YOU OPEN FROM STATUSNEARME 8.1 CRITICAL — OUTSIDE PARTIES ARE NOT CONTROLLED BY US When StatusNearMe opens, links to, or hands off data to another application or service — including without limitation Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze, other navigation apps, phone dialers, web browsers, email clients, app stores, merchant websites, or e-commerce checkouts — that hand-off leaves our App. Those outside parties are not controlled by Wisdom Digital Media or StatusNearMe. 8.2 THEIR POLICIES APPLY, NOT OURS We cannot guarantee, warrant, or be responsible under this Policy for how third parties collect, use, store, share, or retain: • destinations, coordinates, or addresses you send to a maps app; • routes, traffic, or navigation history those apps create; • call logs if you tap to call a merchant; • browsing data on merchant or government websites; • any account you hold with those providers. You should read the privacy policy and terms of each third-party app or website before use. 8.3 YOU MUST GRANT PERMISSION TO USE OTHER APPS StatusNearMe will not silently take over other applications. To open maps, dial a number, send email, or use similar hand-offs, you must: (a) have that other app or capability available on your device (or a browser that can open the link); and (b) grant any permission the operating system, browser, or that other app requires (for example, allowing StatusNearMe to open links, share a destination, or use “Open with”). If you refuse permission, the hand-off may fail and the feature will not work. That is expected and respects your control. 8.4 WHAT MAY BE SHARED IN A HAND-OFF (EXAMPLES) When you choose Directions or Open with maps, the App may pass only the destination place coordinates and/or address (and similar place fields) needed to start navigation — not your Status Card number and not a Wisdom Digital Media identity profile. Once the third-party app receives that destination, their processing is outside this Policy. 8.5 ROUTING HELPERS If the App uses a public routing or geocoding service while online (for example, an open routing API for road corridor estimates), requests are for functional routing geometry or place lookup, not for creating a personal habit profile stored by us. Those providers have their own terms and availability limits. 8.6 STORE PLATFORMS Google Play and Apple App Store have their own privacy policies for account, payment (if any), reviews, and fraud prevention. 9. CHILDREN AND YOUTH 9.1 The App is intended for general audiences who can lawfully use mobile location and related features. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect Status identity or personal tracking profiles from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us by email, contact us and we will delete it from our correspondence systems where reasonably possible. 10. SECURITY 10.1 We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to a catalog/locator app that avoids collecting Status identity. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. You are responsible for the physical security of your device and for OS updates. 11. RETENTION 11.1 Because we do not keep personally identifiable location/habit/route/identity profiles on our App servers, there is no such profile for us to “export” as a tracking dossier. 11.2 Local device settings last until you clear them or uninstall. 11.3 Business email and website logs are retained only as long as needed for operations, security, legal compliance, or dispute handling, then deleted or de-identified in the ordinary course. 12. YOUR CHOICES 12.1 Deny or revoke location and microphone permissions. 12.2 Clear app storage / website site data. 12.3 Uninstall the App. 12.4 Avoid opening third-party maps or links if you do not want those parties to receive a destination or URL. 12.5 Contact us with privacy questions (Section 14). 13. CANADIAN PRIVACY CONTEXT 13.1 Wisdom Digital Media aims to handle any personal information that does come into our possession (for example, an email you send us) in a manner consistent with applicable Canadian privacy expectations, including principles reflected in the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies, and substantially similar provincial private-sector laws where they apply. 13.2 Categories we emphasize for StatusNearMe: • Limiting collection — no Status Card numbers; no personal route/habit identity store; • Identifying purposes — location/mic only for features you invoke; • Consent — OS permissions and voluntary email; • Safeguards and openness — this Policy and the in-app Privacy screen. 13.3 Depending on your province, you may have rights to request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you in our business records (such as email). Because the App does not maintain a Status identity or personal GPS history account, many “download my tracking data” requests will simply confirm that no such profile exists on our systems. 14. CONTACT Privacy questions about StatusNearMe: Wisdom Digital Media Email (static contact reference): hotmod.ca@gmail.com Interactive contact: Formspree on this website → wisdomdigitalmedia@gmail.com Web: https://statusnearme.com/privacy/ User Agreement: https://statusnearme.com/legal/ For Google Play or Apple account/privacy issues that relate only to the store, contact Google or Apple as applicable. 15. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY 15.1 We may update this Policy from time to time. The version and effective date appear at the top. Material changes will be reflected in the in-app Privacy text and on statusnearme.com/privacy/. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy, except where mandatory law requires additional notice or consent. 15.2 If a translation of this Policy conflicts with the English version, the English version controls except where mandatory local law requires otherwise. 16. SUMMARY YOU SHOULD REMEMBER • No personally identifiable locations, habits, routes, or identities are stored by StatusNearMe on the app servers or online services we operate as a personal profile about you. • Status Card numbers are never collected. • Map apps and other outside apps you open are not controlled by us; their policies apply. • You must give permission (device and hand-off) before the App uses other apps available on your device. • Tax and liability terms remain in the User Agreement. — End of Privacy Policy —
